Our first day trip in Goroka starts after lunch with a visit to Goroka J.K. McCarthy Museum. This visit will give you an opportunity to see the combination of local
tribal artifacts, World War 2 Memorabilia and a collection of photographs tracing local history. It gives you a perspective of Goroka then and now.

It is an annual event held during the country’s Independence Day (September,16) in the town of Goroka. Here you will experience the best of over 50 tribal colors who arrive at the show

Flights to Rabaul

A morning flight to Port Moresby and then an afternoon flight to Rabaul.

Pepeta PNG staff will greet you at Port Moresby Airport and assist with transfer to your onward flight to Rabaul.

Your local host will meet you at Kokopo airport and assist with transfer to your accommodation.
Day 7: Tuesday 19th September, 2023
Full day tour of Rabaul/Kokopo region

Group tour with experienced local guide: A full day, land tour of Rabaul/Kokopo region visiting some of the sites steeped in the history that has shaped the East New Britain of today. In an airconditioned vehicle you will visit old Rabaul town, learning about WWII history and the devastating 1994 volcanic eruptions before heading into Kokopo, the new town, to experience arguably the best market in PNG and visiting the WWII museum.

One of the highlights of this tour will be a visit to the volcano hot springs and a view of the volcano site.

The tour will stop for lunch at an agreed time.

You will return to the resort in time to freshen up for dinner.
Day 8: Wednesday 20th September, 2023
Water Activities

Dolphin swim and snorkeling at WW2 Japanese Zero fighter.

An experience not to be missed! After a short boat ride you will arrive at a place where the dolphins congregate every day. Your friendly guides will assist you to get in the water with your snorkeling gear and while holding a rope attached to the boat, see these amazing animals swimming playfully alongside you.

Following the dolphin swim you will be taken to the shallow water site where a Japanese Zero fighter was shot down during World War 2. Here you can snorkel in the clear water and view the remains of the crashed plane.

In the afternoon you have a free choice of activities including kayaking, snorkeling, swimming in the pool, fish feeding or visit the Kokopo market.
Day 9: Thursday 21st September, 2023
